Skin Cancer - Surfing - Longboarding - Longboard.net Forum ...

Had several frozen off, no big deal there, nothing to worry about, more like a slight burn. Every time I go for a checkup, something gets frozen these days. These heal fast, just don't plan any family portraits for like a week afterwards. :-) My frozen ones always seem to always be on the face.

Had one that had to be cut out, they go pretty deep, but one of those things that you want to make sure you get it while you're there. Mine was on my chest, thought I'd have this huge scar glaring forever ( even though it's not like you have an option ). Anyway, about a year later, you have to look really close to see it. More of a nuisance keeping it dry and all the care for the wound than anything else really. Yep, Dry, meaning stay outta the water.

I try to go twice a year now for the checkup. Turns out the quicker they see 'em the shallower they gotta go, if you have one that needs to be dug out.

And yea, I've been told this was all damage from years ago, vs. anything that I'm really doing these days. Heck I never used sunscreen until I was in my 30's. Grew up on a farm, worked every summer shirtless outside and had no idea what I was doing.

Best advice if you're concerned is to find a good derm. Mine is nicknamed the butcher, conservative, she is not.
